Why?
Why do you want to become a FashCon Designer? Fashion Consolidated is Second Life®’s biggest inworld marketplace for fashion and provides you as a designer with a unique channel to instantly share your designs with many thousands of fashion-hungry buyers, who are waiting to receive weekly notices of your new fashion and av-related releases. The Fashion Consolidated group is SL™’s largest general fashion group, and as an approved designer, FashCon will allow you to send weekly notices with full details, pictures, landmarks and news to a huge distribution list of shoppers.
camilla Yosuke from Insolence:
“FashCon accounts for 50% of my business.”
“FashCon is fashion personified and has been a major factor in my company’s continued success…proven consistently.”
When you join FashCon, your shop, SLurl, website and trader links (SLX and Onrez) are added to the Who page on this site, and will automatically change with you as your business moves grows. FashCon buyers access these links to find your products inworld and on the web to purchase. Your store will be added to the FashCon HUD, which FashCon members use for random shopping trips, store searches and organised shopping tours around SL.
Many hundreds of designers have been active posters since the group’s formation in January 2007, and report dramatic increases in sales due to FashCon notices. Fashion Consolidated has become a staple means to show your inworld designs all over Second Life, and a core fashion community for the whole grid, and for the cost of 3 or so sales you can become an approved designer.

Comments from buyers:
Zen Paine (from Ding! Designs)
Ding! Designs has been around for one year next month. We’ve constantly struggled with traffic, usually having a hard time paying the rent. Three weeks after joining Fashcon our sales are five times our average weekly intake every day. Fashion lovers are able to find us at last. Thank you Fashcon!
Danni Baroque (from Baroque) (SLX rating: *****)
I bought the fashcon poster for my new shoe shop. I was a bit hesitant about paying 1000L but i took the plunge as just relying on traffic had created no sales in almost 3 weeks. I bought the item on the 9 feb by the 10th i had been added as a designer to the group. I sent out a notice with my items for sale and a promotion offer. Within 3 hours i had got my money back X2.
I can’t recommend this product enough for getting your sl business off the ground…Thanks Honey for creating such a great product/service

Moontan Valeeva (from Moontan Jewelry)
I joined some days ago and had my first announcement. For me it was a big success :-). Every linden dollar I spend on the kiosk is worth it and it’s a great way to show my creations to the (SL) world.

How?
With the automated joining system, being a FashCon designer allows you to make changes to shop details, notice senders, URLs etc. yourself, and extends your ability to tell others about your inworld locations and web vendor links via the FashCon website and new FashCon HUD.
In order to be able to post notices to the Fashion Consolidated group as a designer, you must first purchase a FashCon kiosk, fill in a notecard inside, and keep the kiosk permanently rezzed and present at your inworld location.
Your FashCon kiosks will do four things:
- Once you have rezzed them in your shop, correctly applied to join the group via your kiosk, and been added after your application has been posted (usually the following weekend), you will be able to post notices to the group of your new releases. Keeping the kiosk rezzed at your shop ensures that you retain this ability to post.
- The kiosks also act as an information point for buyers at your shop to join FashCon. This ensures that your targeted customers get the latest on your releases.
- If your kiosk is rezzed and your application processed, your shop name and location will appear on the FashCon Tour HUD. This will give thousands of shoppers instant access to your landmark and shop information, complete with your own texture of choice.
- Your name, shop, SLurl to get there and links to any online selling sites you use will appear on the FashCon website http://fashcon.com/who.
Please note: designers are not currently being added to FashCon. This is due to RL unavailabilty, and lack of staff to moderate the group. Please do not ask to be added currently as it can’t be done. Keep an eye on the News page to see if designers additions are re-enabled. Thanks!
You may purchase one of three styles of FashCon kiosk inworld at the
or on XStreetSL:
Please note the following important points before purchase:
- Read group rules BEFORE purchase at http://fashcon.com/apply/rules, and the FAQs at http://fashcon.com/faq. Summaries of the rules in other languages are available at http://fashcon.com/apply/translate. Rules are enforced strictly to ensure community stability, and deliberate rule infringement will result in removal. Refunds will not be given in cases of removals for rule infringement. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are happy with the group rules before purchase. If in doubt, do not buy a kiosk.
- Your kiosk must be present at your location at all times in order to remain a FashCon designer with posting privileges. If a kiosk is removed, the system assumes the shop has closed and the corresponding shop will be automatically removed from FashCon at the next cleanup. If this occurs, you must wait until the next weekend after reinstating your kiosk to be added again.
- Do not buy more than one kiosk if you have more than one store location. Kiosk are notrans and unrefundable, and FashCon currently can only register your main store’s SLurl in the FashCon HUD and website. Please see FAQ for more information on free slave kiosks.
- Only buy a kiosk if you’re a designer. Notices are only for designers to send, not mall owners, model agencies etc. See the FAQ for what you can do to publicise your mall/events via your associated designers.
- Do not buy a kiosk if you were ever convicted of selling stolen content by a DMCA to Linden Lab. Your designer rights will be removed when this is discovered, and no refund given.
Please read the Kiosk Instructions page for more details about how your kiosk is set up after purchase. This goes to some length to cover all eventualities, but all you really need to do is rez your kiosk and fill in a notecard. Details also contained there about getting support, or contact the FashCon Kiosk Maintainer, PK Emmons by notecard who will be happy to help.
